Directions From the North

7.5 miles from M6, Junction 33

• Leave the M6 at Junction 33 and head south, along the A6, towards Garstang.
• Take the first left immediately after the roundabout onto Hampson Lane.
• At the T junction turn right.
• At the crossroads (Fleece Inn left hand side) go straight ahead towards Oakenclough.
• Continue on this road for approximately 4 miles, over the fell, past Oakenclough Mill.
• Continue uphill, until you pass a red warning sign to beware children crossing on the left (0.5 miles). Immediately afterwards take the single track road on the right signposted St John’s Church and School, Calder Vale.
• At the school car park continue straight ahead along the farm road.
• Go straight through Lower Landskill Farm, continue up the hill along the farm road and you will arrive at Caldertop (approximately 0.5 miles).
• Turn left at the farmhouse (left hand side) to the cottage entrance.

Directions From the South

11 miles from M6, Junction 32

• Leave the M6 at Junction 32 and travel north, along the A6, towards Garstang.
• Continue on the A6 through the village of Bilsborrow. After the roundabout for Barton Grange Garden Centre turn right onto New Lane, signposted Calder Vale.
• Turn left onto Lodge Road.
• Take the next right onto Smithy Lane.
• Continue to the end of this road and turn right at the wide T junction onto Strickens Lane.
• Stay on this road to the end, 3 miles (ignore the road on the right signed Calder Vale as there is no suitable access to the cottage). At the T junction turn right, signposted Bleasdale & Longridge.
• Continue uphill, until you pass a red warning sign to beware children crossing on the left (0.5 miles). Immediately afterwards take the single track road on the right signposted St John’s Church and School, Calder Vale.
• At the school car park continue straight ahead along the farm road.
• Go straight through Lower Landskill Farm, continue up the hill along the farm road and you will arrive at Caldertop (approximately 0.5 miles).
• Turn left at the farmhouse (left hand side) to the cottage entrance.

Please note that Satellite Navigation Systems will direct you through the village of Calder Vale along a road that it unsuitable for most cars. We recommend that you input the postcode PR3 1SR (Calder Vale St John’s C of E Primary School) and follow the directions from the school car park.
